Catie Mullins - Walero Ambassador

A rising star of British motorsport, Catie Munnings has already made a massive impact on the rally landscape.

Statistically the UK’s No. 1 female rally driver, Catie won the FIA European Rally Championship Ladies Trophy at only 18, the first British person to win a title in European rallying for 49 years. Winning the European title earnt her a place on the shortlist for the Sunday Times Young Sportswoman of the Year, 2018.

Her interest in rallying grew from a young age by regularly visiting her father, Chis Munnings, at Brands Hatch where he ran a rally school. She was able to execute a perfect handbrake turn by thirteen and provided driving lessons to her friends on a specially constructed circuit built by her father on the family farm.

Munnings made her ERC début at the Ypres Rally behind the wheel of a Peugeot 208 VTi R2 for Saintéloc Junior Team. It was at this rally that she began her partnership with current co-driver Anne Stein.

2018 sees Munnings compete in the European Rally Championship for the Saintéloc Junior Team, and has sights set firmly on the top of the pack and on the overall trophies. As a result of her meteoric rise, Catie has been picked up by Peugeot and is a part of their ‘Peugeot rally academy’.

Aside from this Catie is an ambassador for Peugeot UK, Women of the Future, Sean Edwards Foundation, IAM Roadsmart and the fabulous ‘Dare to be Different’ foundation, spear headed by Suzie Wolfe.

As if that wasn’t enough, 2018 sees Catie take on yet another challenge, her own BBC TV series on the CBeebies channel called ‘Catie’s Amazing Machines’ where she drives, flies and pilots everything from F3 cars and snow groomers to fighter jets and submarines – all with the hope of inspiring the younger audience to be active and adventurous.
