Katie Milner – Walero Ambassador

“In terms of performance, you really can feel the benefits, especially in the close confines of the race car where regulating body temperature can sometimes prove difficult.

This is where Walero stands out compared to brands I’ve used in the past, most notably in reduced perspiration on hot days, and comfort on cooler ones.

For me, another important element is how it looks, and regarding the competition, the Walero base layer ticks all the boxes, and that is not just me saying it but those in and out of motorsport agree.”

Katie Milner – Ginetta GT5 Championship

With a double British Rally Champion for a father, Katie Milner took a keen interest in motorsport as a child. The burning desire to become a racing driver aroused when Katie witnessed her father, Jonny Milner, lift his last rally title in 2010.

Two years later Katie was old enough to start competing in Autograss; low budget racing in modified road cars racing on circuits in fields. Her car was built and run by her family team, Merlin Motorsport and she racked up five separate junior titles in just four incredible seasons.

After dominating junior Autograss, it was time for Katie and the team to step up to a new challenge. The tarmac racing circuits of the UK were calling; it was time to go racing!

The Junior Saloon Car Championship (JSCC) was Katie’s debut into circuits. 2015 was a learning year for Katie, going from the slippery grass tracks onto the high grip tarmac was a very different discipline. This shaped Katie’s racing future, the experiences were valuable to go on to challenge and push herself further to pursue her dream.

Welsh racing circuit Pembrey was where she’d make her first piece of history in the 2016 season. From then on, Katie continued to dominate the junior field. Finishing the year with 8 wins, 11 podiums and the title of the ‘UK’s Most Successful Junior Female Racing Driver’.  Katie Milner has well and truly arrived in motor racing!

In 2017, Katie entered the Ginetta GT5 Championship and is now currently racing in this championship for 2018 . Since entering the championship, Katie has already been accredited for her racing performances she truly deserves. A great achievement after being awarded the Georgie Shaw PR award at the British Woman’s Racing Driver’s Club (BWRDC). She continues to impress in the Ginetta GT5 championship, looking real fierce and hungry to come out at the top end of the championship. With some unfortunate setbacks in some races this season, it hasn’t stopped Katie’s drive to climb her way back up the grid.

Katie will be using Walero temperature regulating base layers in the 2017 Ginetta GT5 Championship.
