Tom Ingram – Walero Ambassador

To be working with a young, vibrant and forward thinking company like Walero is very exciting.  They have recognised that helping the driver perform to their maximum is as important as the car itself. Through a mixture of technology and comfort their base layers help me to maintain focus and reduce the strain that a race weekend puts on my body, allowing me to perform more consistently throughout.
Tom Ingram – BTCC Independent Drivers Champion

A native of Buckinghamshire, Tom Ingram is the current BTCC Independent Drivers Champion, a title he and the Speedworks Motorsport now hold for the 2nd consecutive year after success in 2017.

Ingram started his racing career at the age of 8, karting in the and tasted immediate success with several wins.

Continued success meant that Tom moved to cars in 2009, and in 2010 Tom took his first victory and it became a year of ever increasing success, winning a total of 5 wins and 13 podiums on his way to taking the Ginetta Junior Championship. Tom got his first taste of a BTCC car later that year driving Andrew Jordan’s Vauxhall Vectra S2000, his prize for winning the championship.

Fast forward 4 years, 27 race wins and 2 Ginetta Supercup championships, 2014 had Tom step up to biggest challenge his career had seen, a seat in the BTCC with, his now long-standing team, Speedworks Motorsport.

2017 saw Tom win his first BTCC Independent Driver and Speedworks first team’s Championship title with a amazing 3rd place overall.

2018 was yet another step forwards for the team. The season saw Tom, and Independent Speedworks Motorsport, challenging factory supported teams such as Honda Yuassa, Team BMW and the 2017 Subaru for the overall BTCC championship. In yet another unbelievable year the team finished amazing 2nd overall, finishing just 12points behind the eventual winner, Colin Turkington.

Tom’s consistency, speed and amazing results have not gone unnoticed and in 2019 Tom and the team will have the factory support of Team Toyota GB. Yet another step in this remarkable career.

An absolute fan favourite and one of the nicest guys on the grid, could 2019 prove to be his most successful yet.
