James Black – Donington Success

More success for James Black and his teammate Jack Meakin in the Britcar Trophy Championship at a challenging Donington Park weekend with a brace of podium finishes!

A sunny Donington Park was the setting for another strong showing in the Britcar Trophy Championship for James Black and his teammate Jack Meakin. With the highly competitive racing on show, James posted a strong qualifying time in a traffic disrupted session to put the pair P3 in class for Sunday’s races.

A strong opening stint from Jack Meakin allowed James to begin his stint in P3 and a hard fought battle with other competitors for the remainder of the race rewarded a trip to the podium! Race Two saw another strong performance from James & Jack as they remained in contention for another podium finish.

James closed in on P2 with quick and consistent lap times and was within several tenths on the final lap. A fantastic last lap battle saw the top five drivers finish within three tenths of one another and James missed out on a P2 finish by a mear 0.155 margin!

Overall it was another strong weekend for the Westbourne Motorsport Pair as they look ahead to Donington once more in October.

“A great way to round off a positive weekend with a Second Place! Narrowly missing out on the P1 by 0.155. Great racing all weekend and huge thanks to all the Marshalls and medics on the scene after that scary incident in Race Two. 2 Podiums is certainly nothing to grumble about! 1 more round to go!”
