Maiden IndyNXT podium for Louis Foster

Louis Foster secured his maiden IndyNXT podium at the Iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the ‘month of May’ period for the NTT IndyCar series.

After a tricky start to the season where mechanical issues and incidents meant Louis could not convert his excellent pace in the car to the results he deserved, he headed to the GP circuit full of drive with his Andretti Autosport outfit behind him.

Louis would showcase his talent and natural ability with a fantastic qualifying session that saw him claim P3 and a second row start for the race that was to follow on Sunday afternoon. The race was an instant classic from the moment the lights changed to green and Louis would immediately challenge for the lead after overtaking Andretti stablemate Hunter McLera for second place.

Louis and the leader Nannini drove away from the rest of the field during the race establishing a gap of 10 seconds to the third place driver. Louis looked to save his overtaking boost for the final laps and was sat just behind his rival for the whole race.

He would close to within a couple of tenths on the last lap, but ultimately Nannini used the clean air out front to his advantage, with Louis just 0.3909s behind.

“We fought hard for the win, but settled for 2nd. Happy to finally score some long overdue points on the board and a massive thank you to the team as always for their support!”
