Tom Wood continues podium streak
With his fantastic start to his season in the Radical SR1 Cup, Tom Wood was looking to continue his impressive start to the season as the championship headed to Oulton Park to support the iconic BTCC at one of the most picturesque circuits on the UK motorsport calendar. Tom was raring to hit the track from the first green flag of the weekend and he would showcase fantastic pace to secure another pole position for the opening round of the weekend.
Getting a fantastic start, Tom would convert his pole position into a sizeable lead by the end of the first lap and he looked comfortable as the race moved towards the closing stages. Tom wood keep his head down, setting consistent and quick lap times as he looked to maintain the gap to him and his rivals that were chasing.
“I pushed as hard as I could and stayed on my pace, “ said the victorious Wood, after the Derby University car came home 1.751 secs clear of second place and racked up another triumph for the team that continues to punch above it’s weight!
Unfortunately two mechanical failures in the remaining races when podium finishes looked achievable, put a premature end to what was promising to be another fantastic weekend for the Derby based driver.
Tom’s season continues at Silverstone on July 29-30.
